Description

The inverted microscopy module provides sample visualization from 1.25x to 60x magnification in fluorescence, brightfield and color brightfield for a broad range of applications. The upright microscopy module with reflected light imaging enables even more applications such as ELISpot or fast slide scanning and ROI detection workflow. Cytation™ 7 includes continually variable bandpass monochromators for unmatched versatility and performance for general multi-mode plate reader applications. Temperature control to 45°C, optional Peltier cooling module, gas control and shaking expand the applications for kinetic cell based assays. Cytation™ 7 is controlled by Gen5™ software, which combines ease-of-use with powerful processing and analysis capabilities.

Multi-mode plate reading with sophisticated imaging

Cytation™ 7 includes both upright and inverted microscopes to support a wide range of cellular and reflected light imaging applications that cannot be performed on a standard plate reader. Information on cell morphology, localization of signal, cell count, object identification and quantification can be obtained with Cytation™ 7’s imaging modes. Comprehensive imaging solution

Cytation™ 7 offers two powerful microscopy modules:  The inverted microscope supports fluorescence, brightfield and color bright field imaging from 1.25x to 60x to capture and analyze both large objects and intracellular details. The upright reflected light microscope enables a broad range of imaging applications such as ELISPOT, colony counting, material inspection, and much more.

ELISpot Imaging

The upright microscope in Cytation™ 7 is ideal for automating assays such as ELISpot, in which cell secretions are rendered visible through the use of a colorimetric reaction. Cytation™ 7 fully automates imaging acquisition, processing, image analysis and object count. 

Powerful functionality with automated ROI detection

Cytation™ 7 combined with Gen5™ software supports powerful region of interest (ROI) detection workflows. When scanning slides, the upright camera is used to detect H&E tissue sections, then the inverted optics are used for a high resolution scan of the detected ROIs. In fluorescence, low magnification imaging can be performed to detect rare events in large cellular populations, then objects of interest are automatically imaged at higher magnification.

Variable bandwidth for sensitivity and specificity

Cytation™ 7 uses a quad monochromator design with variable bandwidth for fluorescence plate reading. The bandwidth can be set anywhere between 9 and 50 nm in 1 nm increment. Large bandwidth settings (1) provide increased sensitivity and lower limits of detection. Small bandwidth settings (2) provide increased specificity when multiple signals are presents, which reduces signal crosstalk and assay background.
