General purpose frocks and smocks are made from materials that resist specific hazards such as chemicals, flames, or biological contaminants. They cover the body, including the arms and torso, providing a barrier against potential risks. Frocks have a fitted or cinched waistline that flares out into a fuller skirt and are knee-length or ankle-length. Smocks are loose-fitting and shorter with a straight silhouette. They are typically worn as overgarments.
