Supplier: Thermo Scientific Chemicals 328250010
Description
This Thermo Scientific brand product was originally part of the Acros Organics product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Acros Organics product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific.
General Description
• Fumonisin is a fungal metabolite that is a cell permeable mycotoxin that can halt sphingolipid biosynthesis by inhibiting sphingosine N-acetyl transferase
Applications
• It can potently inhibit sphingosine N-acyltransferase (ceramide synthase), causing an accumulation of sphingoid bases
• It is also a protein serine and threonine phosphatase inhibitor
• It can selectively inhibit sphingomyelin biosynthesis in neuronal cells
