Gibco™ AAV-MAX Helper-Free AAV Production System Kit
Description
The Gibco AAV-MAX Helper-Free AAV Production System is a scalable, high-titer platform for suspension AAV production. It is based on a high-density suspension culture of clonal 293F-derived Viral Production Cells 2.0 in Viral Production Medium. Optimal viral titers are mediated by our advanced lipid nanoparticle transfection reagent in combination with a novel production enhancer. The components are designed to work synergistically, resulting in maximal titers and eliminating the need to optimize reagents and protocols.
Features of the AAV-MAX Helper-Free AAV Production System include:
- Components work synergistically to produce high AAV titers greater than 5 x 1010 vg/mL (unpurified)
- Suspension-based system has scalable protocols from shake flask to bioreactor scale
- Simplified workflow—streamlined protocol using helper virus-free triple transfection
- Clonal, 293F-derived, high-producer cell line
- Robust transfection protocols are adaptable to large-scale transfection
- The components included in the AAV-MAX System Kit are:
- 1 vial of Viral Production Cells 2.0
- 1 L of Viral Production Medium
- 1 AAV-MAX Transfection Kit for 1 L of production
- 100 mL Viral-Plex Complexation Buffer
- 100 mL AAV-MAX Lysis Buffer
- 100 mL GlutaMAX Supplement
All components are also available for purchase separately.

The AAV-MAX Transfection Reagent, AAV-MAX Tranfection Booster, and AAV-MAX Enhancer are specifically designed to work synergistically with the Viral Production Medium and Viral Production Cells 2.0 to provide maximum titers. Mixing and matching of reagents is not recommended, as this will decrease the overall performance.
The AAV-MAX transfection protocol is scalable from 24 deep-well plates to shake flasks to bioreactors. The user guide provides guidance on this.
Yes, these are different, and each is optimized for its intended use.
The AAV-MAX Enhancer is important for boosting AAV production. If the enhancer is not used, it will reduce system performance by 50% or more.
