Description
Human MD-2 quantitates human MD-2 in serum, plasma, supernatant. The assay will exclusively recognize both natural and recombinant human MD-2.
MD-2 is a gene that encodes a protein involved in the recognition of bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS) by the immune system. It is located on chromosome 8 and is part of a larger family of genes that encode for similar proteins. The MD-2 protein forms a complex with Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) to recognize and respond to LPS, triggering an immune response.
