Protective Coveralls
Protective coveralls, also referred to as safety coveralls, are specialized garments designed to provide full-body protection in hazardous industries including, but not limited to, construction, chemical processing, healthcare, manufacturing, laboratories, and controlled environments. Protective coveralls are available in single-use, limited-use, or reusable styles and have specific characteristics and purposes to ensure the health and safety of wearers in various environments.
Protective coveralls have many uses, including:
- Safeguarding against exposure to harmful chemicals, solvents, and/or hazardous substances
- Protecting against biological hazards such as bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens in healthcare and laboratory settings
- Providing heat and flame resistance protection in electrical arc flash or environments that have potential fire hazards
- Protecting against physical injuries from sharp objects, abrasions, and impacts
- Preventing contamination of clean environments such as in semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food processing industries
- Protecting against contact with harmful dust and particulates, such as asbestos or silica
- Protecting against cold, rainy, or wet conditions
- Providing high-visibility (hi-viz) in low-light conditions or when visibility is crucial for safety
Protective coveralls are typically made from specialized materials that provide the necessary barrier properties while ensuring comfort and mobility for the wearer.
