Description
Also called a shaker mill or high-energy ball mill. Reduces samples to analytical fineness. Can be used for mechanical alloying.
- Sample size: 0.2–10 g per vial (for grinding), up to 60 mL (for blending or mixing)
- Two-sample capacity increases sample throughput Accepts grinding/mixing vials from 2.38 to 3.13 in in length and up to 2.25 in in diameter
- Speed: 1060 cycles/min (back and forth)
- One or two samples can be processed simultaneously; however, if one sample is processed, a second empty vial must be inserted to maintain the balance of the system
- Features include a variable-range 100-min electronic timer, START/PAUSE/STOP buttons, 0.33 hp motor, dual clamps for multiple sample capacity, digital display, safety interlock system, and forced-air cooling
- Optional adapters (8010 and 8011) permit processing of multiple samples in 0.5 × 1 in, 0.5 × 2 in, and 0.75 × 2 in vials
