Thermo Scientific™ Pierce™ Phosphatase Inhibitor Mini Tablets
Description
Pierce Phosphatase Inhibitor Mini Tablets protect phosphoproteins from serine/threonine phosphatases and tyrosine phosphatases. Each Phosphatase Inhibitor Tablet contains sodium fluoride, sodium orthovanadate, sodium pyrophosphate and beta-glycerophosphate for broad-spectrum inhibition of phosphatase activity. Tablets are stable at 4°C for up to 12 months, and each tablet is sufficient for 10mL of solution. The Pierce Phosphatase Inhibitor Tablets are suitable for use with any cell or tissue extract to preserve protein phosphorylation for downstream applications.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
We have no data on long-term stability of the inhibitors at 4°C in aqueous solution. We generally recommend dissolving the tablets just before use.
As it is recommended to use a final inhibitor concentration of 2X - 3X for samples with a high phosphatase activity, it is indeed possible to prepare a solution at these concentrations. However, we would not recommend to go much higher than 3X.
The Pierce Phosphatase Inhibitor Mini Tablets can be dissolved in the lysis reagent that is being used for protein extraction. We recommend dissolving each tablet in 10 mL of the lysis reagent to get a 1X final concentration. To dissolve completely, the solution may be vortexed or placed on a magnetic stir plate with a stir bar.
We do not recommend splitting the capsule into smaller portions. Researchers using less than 500 mL should choose a different format (liquid or tablet) of protease inhibitors.
We offer standalone protease inhibitors (AEBSF, Aprotinin, PMSF, EDTA, etc.), as well as cocktails or combinations of protease inhibitors in liquid, tablet, and larger capsule formats. These cocktails of protease inhibitors can also be purchased in combination with a cocktail of phosphatase inhibitors, in both liquid and tablet form, for even greater convenience.
