Description
Thrombopoietin (TPO) is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes. The human TPO gene encodes for a 353 amino acid glycoprotein, which contains a 21 amino acid signal sequence, a 15 amino acid erythropoietin-like domain, and a highly glycosylated 179 amino acid C-terminal domain. PeproTech Recombinant Human TPO is a fully biologically active 174 amino acid polypeptide (18.6 kDa), which contains the erythropoietin-like domain of the full length TPO protein. PeproGMP TPO cytokine is most often used with PeproGMP SCF and PeproGMP Flt3-ligand in ex-vivo cell therapy for the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) cultures, along with IL-3 and IL-6 for further synergistic expansion and immune cell maturation. Reconsitute using sterile water (i.e., WFI) to a concentration of 0.5-1.0 mg/ml.
