Invitrogen™ Guanosine 5'-O-(3-Thiotriphosphate), BODIPY™ FL Thioester, Sodium Salt (BODIPY™ FL GTP-γ-S, Thioester)
Fluorescence may be recovered on binding to G-proteins
Supplier: Invitrogen™ G22183
Description
BODIPY FL GTP-γ-S binds to GTP-binding proteins. To create this fluorescent nucleotide, the BODIPY FL fluorophore was linked through the γ-thiol of GTP-γ-S. The fluorescence of BODIPY FL GTP-γ-S is quenched approx. 90% relative to that of the free dye, but may be recovered on binding to G-proteins. In addition to its potential use for binding studies, the BODIPY FL GTP-γ-S thioether is an important new substrate for Fhit, a member of the histidine triad superfamily of nucleotide-binding proteins.
