For example, it is used to produce 2-(2-Hydroxy-3-methyl-phenyl)-propan-2-ol. The reaction occurs with reagent Tetrahydrofuran.

Soluble in ethanol, fixed Oils, Propylene Glycol. Insoluble in water.
