Gibco™ Laminin Mouse Protein, Natural
Description
Laminin is the major glycoprotein component of basement membranes, and has a molecular weight of 850,000 daltons. This preparation of mouse Laminin was isolated from the Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm (EHS) sarcoma and is supplied at a concentration of 0.5-2.0 mg/mL.
Key functions include:
- Modulation of cell attachment, cell spreading, cell growth and motility
- Binding to itself and other matrix compounds
- Promotion of epithelial differentiation
- Modification of leukocyte function
- Stimulation of neurite outgrowth
Supplied: 1 mg in 50 mM Tris-HCL (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl
Performance qualification (cell attachment): Half-maximal cell attachment of MG63 cells at 37°C: ≤20 μg/mL

Laminin Mouse Protein, Natural (Cat. No. 23017015) is sterile filtered through a 0.22 micron filter membrane.
iPSC-derived neurons have been cultured successfully on Poly-D-Lysine with a secondary coating of mouse and human laminin.
Yes, it is recommended to store usage size aliquots at -68 degrees C to -85 degrees C.
The protein concentration per vial is 1 mg/vial. The specification for protein concentration can range from 0.5 to 2.0 mg/mL. The volume per vial can vary as it will be based on the protein concentration determined for the specific lot. The volume added to each vial will equal 1 mg of laminin.
