Incoming compressed air is filtered to remove oil, water, and particles
Filtered air is passed over a heated platinum catalyst that converts methane and oxygen in the air to carbon dioxide and water
If the hydrocarbon content of the input air is less than 10 ppm (as methane), the residual hydrocarbon concentration (as methane) is less than 0.1 ppm
A high efficiency 0.01 μm filter downstream of the catalyst ensures further removal of particles from the product stream
