Description

CENTA™ β-Lactamase Substrate, CAS 9073-60-3, is a chromogenic β-lactamase substrate for both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

Chromogenic β-lactamase substrate for both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria that is comparable to other chromogens (PADAC™ Substrate and nitrocefin). Hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring causes a color change from light yellow (λmax: 340 nm) to chrome yellow (λmax: 405 nm). Relatively unaffected by commonly used microbiological media and human serum. Stable in H2O and in the presence of cysteine, mercaptoethanol and dimercaptopropanol.
