Culture media tests drinking water for the presence of E.coli and total coliforms with membrane filtration method

Detects degree of water quality deterioration in drinking distribution system enumerates, and monitors the progress in remediation. Provides precise and quantifiable results; also less time consuming and costly than other techniques.

  • Chromogenic-fluorogenic medium for detecting total coliforms and Escherichia coli in 24 hours or less
  • Under ambient light, E. coli exhibits bluish-gray appearance; under long-wave UV light, it displays blue-green fluorescence
  • Coliform are cream under ambient light, and display blue-white fluorescence under long-wave UV light
  • Conforms to EPA Method 1604 for monitoring drinking water under the Total Coliform Rule, and source water under the Surface Water Treatment

Applications:

For testing ambient and potable water, treatment plant effluents, and beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturing
