Description

TaqMan™ Array Plates contain the same high quality TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays that have been commercially available for years in a convenient, dried, 96-well format.

The assay panel in this plate was selected in cooperation with the International Stem Cell Initiative (2007 Nature Biotechnology. 25:803-816). The assays target genes which are validated as markers for the characterization of human embryonic stem cell identity, and which assess variations between embryonic stem cell isolates. Genes are included based on the following criteria: Expression in human embryonal carcinoma cells, primordial germ cells or human embryonic stem cells; Known role in maintenance of pluripotency in human embryonic stem cells; Identification in microarray-based experiments as being correlated with the stem cell state. In order to identify cells which have left the pluripotent state, genes whose expression is characteristic of specific differentiation lineages in the post implantation embryo and mature tissues are included.

Gene Signature Plates are 96-well plates that are pre-configured with the most appropriate TaqMan Gene Expression Assays for a specific biological process, pathway, or disease state. Each plate contains predefined assays and endogenous controls dried-down in the wells, ready for accurate assessment of an entire gene signature in one simple experiment.

TaqMan Array Plates contain the same TaqMan Gene Expression Assays that have been available for years in a dried, 96-well format. Tests have found no difference in performance between TaqMan Assays supplied in the liquid format and assays dried into a TaqMan Array Plate.

  • The plates have been validated for use on Applied Biosystems™ 7000, 7300, 7500 and 7900HT Fast Real-Time PCR Systems using standard 96-well blocks, standard PCR cycling conditions, and 20μL reaction
  • Each pack of TaqMan Array Plates is shipped with a CD containing the plate map along with details of each TaqMan Assay enabling proper labeling of data and easy access to Assay ID numbers for simple reordering

The minimum amount of TaqMan Array plates needed to submit an order is based on the plate type:
• Inventoried TaqMan array plates: 1 plate
• TaqMan Flexible Content panel array plates: 6 plates
• Custom TaqMan array plates: 6 plates

Beginning in April 2016, TaqMan documentation files for TaqMan Array Plates (assay information files (AIF), experimental setup files, and plate layout files) can be downloaded from the Thermo Fisher Scientific website at https://www.thermofisher.com/taqmanfiles. To obtain your TaqMan documentation files:
• Select the appropriate product type.
• Enter the information being requested for the product type.
• Fixed TaqMan array plates: Enter the Part number and Batch number
• TaqMan Flexible Content panel array plates/Custom TaqMan array plates: Enter the Sales Order number and Batch number
• Click Submit.
