Spectrum™ Chemical Leucine, USP is a hydrophobic essential amino acid that is a component in astacin, ferritin and other buffer proteins. It is used for the creation of sterols in the muscle and adipose tissues. Widely used in sport supplements for its muscle building properties, it is also used as a food additive and flavor enhancer.
