Thermo Scientific™ Thermus thermophilus DNA Ligase
Thermo Scientific™ Thermus thermophilus DNA Ligase is a thermostable NAD-dependent DNA ligase that catalizes formation of phosphodiester bonds between 5'-phospate and 3'-hydroxyl termini in double-stranded DNA.
Supplier: Thermo Scientific™ EL07981
Description
Thermo Scientific™ Thermus thermophilus DNA Ligase is a thermostable NAD-dependent DNA ligase that catalizes formation of phosphodiester bonds between 5`-phospate and 3`-hydroxyl termini in double-stranded DNA. Thermus thermophilus DNA Ligase is not active on RNA, single-stranded DNA, or blunt-ended DNA.
Features
- Increased specificity—high ligation temperature eliminates non-specific ligation
- Stabile at high temperatures with an optimum ligation temperature of 45°C to 65°C
Applications
Thermus thermophilus DNA ligase is recommended for applications requiring high ligation specificity, including:
- Single-stranded nick repair in double-stranded DNA
- Next-generation sequencing
- Rolling circle amplification
- Proximity ligation assay
