3âHydroxyacetophenone is used in the preparation of chalcones and flavonoids, which finds application as an anti-tuberculosis agent and antileishmanial chaocones. It is also involved in the preparation of phenylephrine. Further, it is an active component of castoreum, which is used as a tincture in some perfumes and as a food additive.
