Applied Biosystems™ Veriti™ Thermal Cycler, 384-well
Description
Key Features
- Convenient color touch screen interface speeds set-up and use
- Transfer protocols, back up protocols and system configurations with a USB port
- Network up to 12 instruments using standard Ethernet cables and a router (not provided)
- From a single, networked Veriti instrument, start a run on up to 12 Veriti systems
- Optional VeritiLink™ Remote Management Software allows users to remotely manage more than 50 cyclers from a PC or internet-compatible phone
High Throughput
- Instruments vent air from front to back which allows instruments to be conveniently placed next to each other, saving lab space
- Incubate setting can be used at the end of a run, so the isothermal block maintains a set temperature and plate can be retrieved at user's convenience
- Powerful, yet simple user interface is driven by a 6.5 in. (16.51cm) VGA color touch screen
- The large screen allows for easy viewing of temperature files
- The large navigation buttons permit set-up and navigation without a stylus or mouse
- For quick set-up, select one of the preprogrammed methods
- Cumstom progrmas may also be entered via the user interface
- Programs may be saved to the instrument or a USB memory stick

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
There is no universal ramp rate for a thermal cycler because both the block and sample ramp rates are different for each thermal cycler. The sample ramp rate changes with the volume of the sample since more time and energy are required to heat higher sample volumes. The ramp rate may also need to be changed for a particular PCR assay or primer pair if you are trying to use the same PCR assay on two different thermal cyclers, for example.
As a reference, the block ramp rate commonly used with DreamTaq Polymerase on the MiniAmp thermal cycler is 3.0 C/sec. In a 50 µL PCR reaction, this translates to a sample ramp rate of ~1 C/sec.
