Sinapic acid is a type of phenolic acid. Removal of amino group from phenylalanine, catalysing with enzyme phenylalanine ammonia-lyase forms cinnamic acid. The precursor of hydroxycinnamates is produced after hydroxylation of benzene ring. One of the precursors produced is sinapic acid.
