For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. SGK (SGK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that may be a transcriptional target for p38/MAPK in hepatoma cells. SGK plays an important role in cellular stress response and cell survival. SGK1 is transcriptionally activated by numerous stimuli, including serum, glucocorticoids, osmotic stress, and hormones. It phosphorylates and negatively regulates pro-apoptotic FOXO3A. SGK1 is thought to play an essential function in nephropathy and cardiovascular development.
