Cell Therapy Systems CTS™ Recombinant Human Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a bioactive protein intended for use in cell culture applications, including pre-clinical and clinical cell therapy studies. SCF is a pleiotropic factor that acts in utero in germ cell and neural cell development and hematopoiesis. These activities are all believed to reflect a role in cell migration. In adults, it functions pleiotropically, while mostly noted for its continued requirement in hematopoiesis. The lyophilized, E. coli-expressed SCF CTS™ Recombinant Human is verified for activity through dose-dependent proliferation of human MO-7e cells.

To help verify that GIBCO™ CTS™ Recombinant growth factors are of the highest quality, each protein is analyzed for purity, along with structural homogeneity, to help ensure a biologically active protein. The purity of each GIBCO™ CTS™ recombinant growth factor is verified by SDS-PAGE to be over 95% and to have endotoxin levels below 0.1 ng/μg.

High Biological Activity

All GIBCO™ CTS™ Recombinant growth factors are verified for activity. Each lot has its own ED50 determined using an activity assay based on a specific function of the growth factor. The activity of our SCF CTS™ Recombinant Human growth factor is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of human MO-7e cells to have an ED50 range of 2 to 10 ng/mL (specific activity: 5 × 10⁵–1 × 10⁵ units/mg). Optimal concentration for individual applications should be determined by a dose response assay.
