Description
Potassium sulfate is used in the production of fertilizers (i.e. providing potassium and sulfur), potassium alum, potassium carbonate, and glass. In analytical chemistry, it is used in the determination of nitrogen by Kjeldahl method and protein in foodstuffs. Also, it is used in the electrostatic effects on pKa values of amino acid residues in the staphylococcal nuclease. It is also used in the separation of protein through electrophoresis. It also serves as a laboratory reagent..
This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
