Description

PEG also known as ethylene glycol, is a colorless, odorless, viscous dihydroxy alcohol. It is a polyether compound with applications ranging from industrial manufacturing to medicine. It is the most important glycol that is commercially available, and finds application as an antifreeze and coolant, in hydraulic fluids, and in the manufacture of low-freezing dynamites and resins. It is widely used as covalent modifier of biological macromolecules.
