About the SureLock Tandem Midi Gel Tank
The SureLock Tandem Midi Gel Tank provides for rapid electrophoresis of midi gels using minimal buffer (∼520 mL/gel) in a leak-free system. With a setup time of ∼30 seconds, the tank efficiently runs midi gels while also providing consistent performance. The tank features two independent chambers, allowing electrophoresis of one or two gels at a time, which saves on buffer and limits waste. The tank is compatible with all Invitrogen pre-cast midi gels and midi gel cassettes.
About NuPAGE Tris-Acetate Midi gels
NuPAGE Tris-Acetate Midi protein gels provide excellent separation of large molecular weight proteins. NuPAGE Tris-Acetate Midi gels are high performance polyacrylamide gels that simulate the denaturing or the native conditions of the traditional Laemmli system. The unique buffer formulation maintains a low operating pH during electrophoresis, resulting in superior resolution of proteins compared to traditional Tris-glycine midi SDS-PAGE gels.
Transfer and detection
For transfer of proteins to a membrane, we recommend using NuPAGE Transfer Buffer (NP0006) for traditional wet transfer using the SureLock Tandem Midi Blot Module (STM2001). Alternatively, rapid semi-dry transfer can be done using the Invitrogen Power Blotter or rapid dry transfer using the iBlot 3 Gel Transfer Device (IB31001).
Convenient to use
NuPAGE WedgeWell-format Tris-Acetate gels have innovative wedge-shaped wells that allow up to two times more sample load volume than other 1.0-mm-thick gels. The wedge-shaped wells also have larger openings, making sample loading easier.
