Invitrogen™ Gel-Dry™ Drying Solution
Description
- Gel-Dry™ Drying Solution is one component of the DryEase™ Mini-Gel Drying System which is a simple, easy-to-use kit for drying gels evenly using passive evaporation
- The kit allows gels to be assembled on a base between two open frames, so that both outer surfaces of the gels are exposed to air
- Consequently, drying is even and cracking is minimized
- The proprietary Gel-Dry™ Drying Solution modulates the rate of water release to ensure crack-free gels
- With the DryEase™ System, gels are dried overnight with uniform tension on all points of the gel to eliminate cracking
Applications
- Gels dried with the DryEase™ System are suitable for fluorography, densitometry, autoradiography, or permanent gel storage

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the composition of the Gel-Dry Drying solution?
The Gel-Dry Drying solution has a proprietary composition.
Is the Gel-Dry Drying solution compatible with the enhancers used in autoradiography?
Yes, it is compatible. You need to put the gel in the enhancer solution, wash it and then proceed with the gel drying solution. For detection of signal using 32P, the cellophane is fine. For 35S, the upper layer of cellophane may need to be removed (which is possible) depending on the enhancer being used. For detection of 14C, there is no need to remove the cellophane as it will pass through.
