Recombinant Protein

For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. MAP4K4 (HGK) is a serine/threonine kinase which plays an important role in stress-activated MAPK core signaling pathways, the response to environmental stress and cytokines such as TNF-alpha. It appears to act upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway. This protein is thought to interact with the SH3 domain of the adapter proteins Nck. HGK binds, via its CNH regulatory domain, to the N-terminal region of SPG3A. Expression appears to be ubiquitous, expressed in all tissue types examined. Isoform 5 appears to be more abundant in the brain, and isoform 4 is predominant in the liver, skeletal muscle and placenta.
