Invitrogen™ Human VRK1 (aa 5-141) Control Fragment Recombinant Protein
Description
Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (90%), Rat (90%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-81887. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Human vaccinia-related kinase 1 (VRK1) is a new kinase related to a poxvirus kinase, and more distantly to the casein kinase 1 family. VRK1 shows strong autophosphorylating activity in several Ser and Thr residues. VRK has also been found to be an upstream regulator of p53 that belongs to a new signaling pathway.
