Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (79%), Rat (79%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-111027. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

The product of this gene performs the final step in processing a specific class of nuclear-encoded proteins targeted to the mitochondrial matrix or inner membrane. This protein is primarily involved in the maturation of oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS)-related proteins. This gene may contribute to the functional effects of frataxin deficiency and the clinical manifestations of Friedreich ataxia.
