Invitrogen™ Human Importin 4 (aa 690-773) Control Fragment Recombinant Protein
Description
Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (69%), Rat (69%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-58634 (PA5-58634. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Importin-4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IPO4 gene. Functions in nuclear protein import as nuclear transport receptor. Serves as receptor for nuclear localization signals (NLS) in cargo substrates. Is thought to mediate docking of the importin/substrate complex to the nuclear pore complex (NPC) through binding to nucleoporin and the complex is subsequently translocated through the pore by an energy requiring, Ran-dependent mechanism. At the nucleoplasmic side of the NPC, Ran binds to the importin, the importin/substrate complex dissociates and importin is re-exported from the nucleus to the cytoplasm where GTP hydrolysis releases Ran.
