Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (83%), Rat (83%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-57160 (PA5-57160. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

The approximately 142 kDa Tankyrase protein is ubiquitously expressed in mammalian cells and is localized to human telomeres. It has homology to ankyrins and to the catalytic domain of poly (adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Tankyrase binds to TRF1 (telomeric repeat binding factor-1), which negatively regulates the maintenance of telomere length.
