Invitrogen™ Human ERV3 (aa 278-407) Control Fragment Recombinant Protein
Description
Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (19%), Rat (19%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82579. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Retroviral envelope proteins mediate receptor recognition and membrane fusion during early infection. Endogenous envelope proteins may have kept, lost or modified their original function during evolution. This endogenous envelope protein has lost its fusogenic properties. It can inhibit cell growth through decrease expression of cyclin B1 and increased expression of p21 in vitro.
