Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (81%), Rat (81%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-54405 (PA5-54405. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

The protein encoded by this gene is a GTPase that localizes to the mitochondrion. The encoded protein binds to the 3' terminal stem loop of 12S mitochondrial rRNA and is required for proper assembly of the 28S small mitochondrial ribosomal subunit. Deletion of this gene has been shown to cause mitochondrial dysfunction, growth retardation, and apoptosis. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
