Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (91%), Rat (91%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82334 (PA5-82334. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Caldesmon is a developmentally regulated protein involved in smooth muscle and non muscle contraction. Two closely related variants of human caldesmon have been identified which differ in their electrophorectic mobility and cellular distribution. The h caldesmon variant (120 - 150 kDa) is predominantly expressed in smooth muscle whereas l caldesmon (70 - 80 kDa) is found in non-muscle tissue and cells. Neither of the two variants has been detected in skeletal muscle.
