A Horse anti-Goat IgG antibody is an immunoglobulin produced by immunizing a horse with goat IgG. This generates a specific immune response in the horse, leading to the production of antibodies that can recognize and bind to goat IgG. In scientific assays, such as Western blotting, ELISA, or immunohistochemistry, this antibody is used as a secondary antibody to detect a goat-derived primary antibody bound to its target antigen. Typically, the horse anti-goat IgG antibody is conjugated to a reporter molecule (e.g., an enzyme like horseradish peroxidase or a fluorescent dye), which allows for the indirect detection and quantification of the antigen-antibody complex. This system amplifies the signal, making it easier to detect low-abundance targets.
