Description

Description

PrimaPure Rat and Mouse Neural Stem Cells (NSC) are isolated from cerebral striatum and mesencephalon of E14 fetal mouse and E18 fetal rat brain. Additionally, stem cells are available from adult rat brain. These cells are maintained in an undifferentiated proliferative state by culturing them as free-floating neurospheres in serum-free medium optimized with growth factors. Neural stem cells are a source of donor tissue for prospective neural cell therapy research given the ability of neurosphere to retain multi-lineage potential and proliferative ability in vitro.

  • Cells are cryopreserved at second passage and can be cultured and propagated for one to two passages prior to induction of phenotypic differentiation
  • Each lot functionally characterized
  • Each lot tested negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi
