Invitrogen™ Cytomegalovirus gH Late Antigen Chimeric Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (HCMV16)

Description
This antibody binds gpUL75 (gH) of the human cytomegalovirus, which is an 86-kDa glycoprotein. The heterodimer glycoprotein H-glycoprotein L is required for the fusion of viral and plasma membranes leading to virus entry into the host cell. It is though to bind a conformational epitope on the gH, and its bind is destroyed if the protein is denatured.
Cytomegalovirus is an enveloped double stranded DNA virus which in humans (HCMV) is commonly known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5). Cytomegalovirus glycoprotein H (gH) late neutralizing antigen and reacts with MRC-5 infected cells.
