Description
This antibody is capable of recognizing biotin conjugated proteins. It has very little or no affinity towards binding free biotin.
Biotin is a water-soluble B complex vitamin, generally classified as Vitamin B7. It is required by all organisms and can only be synthesized by bacteria, yeasts, molds, algae, and some plant species. Biotin is required for incorporation of carbon dioxide into organic compounds and exhibits a MW of ~244 Da.
