Gibco™ AAV-MAX Transfection Kit
Description
The Gibco AAV-MAX Transfection Kit is an essential component of the AAV-MAX Helper-Free AAV Production System. It is formulated for the transient transfection of Viral Production Cells 2.0.
The kit includes a cationic lipid-based transfection reagent, as well as a transfection booster and production enhancer, which are designed to work together to produce adeno-associated virus (AAV) particles from Viral Production Cells 2.0 when cultured in Viral Production Medium.
Features of the AAV-MAX Transfection Kit include:
- Components work synergistically within the AAV-MAX system to produce high AAV titers greater than 5 x 1010 vg/mL (unpurified)
- AAV-MAX transfection reagent—cationic lipid-based transfection reagent for helper virus-free triple transfection of high-density cultures
- AAV-MAX booster—chemically defined component that works with the transfection reagent to achieve high transfection efficiency
- AAV-MAX enhancer—chemically defined component that enhances the production of AAV particles
- Robust transfection protocols are adaptable to large-scale transfection

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The AAV-MAX Enhancer increases AAV vector production in Viral Production Cells (VPCs) 2.0. The identity and mechanism of action of the AAV-MAX Enhancer are proprietary.
The AAV-MAX Transfection Booster enhances the efficiency of co-transfection of multiple plasmids into high-density Viral Production Cells (VPCs) 2.0. The identity and mechanism of action of the transfection booster are proprietary.
The AAV-MAX Transfection Reagent, AAV-MAX Tranfection Booster, and AAV-MAX Enhancer are specifically designed to work synergistically with the Viral Production Medium and Viral Production Cells 2.0 to provide maximum titers. Mixing and matching of reagents is not recommended, as this will decrease the overall performance.
The AAV-MAX transfection protocol is scalable from 24 deep-well plates to shake flasks to bioreactors. The user guide provides guidance on this.
