Description

2-Hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin is used to enhance solubility of hydrophobic compounds by forming complex with them. This favors its usage in pharmaceutics, in the manufacturing of drugs. Beta- cyclodextrin and its methyl derivative is used to remove cholesterol from cultured cells. Many common chiral stationary phases used in high-performance liquid chromatography columns consists of beta-cyclodextrin.
