2,6-Dichlorobenzoyl chloride acts as an important intermediate in organic synthesis, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and dyestuffs. In addition to this, it undergoes esterification of (fluoren-9-ylmethoxy)carbonyl (Fmoc)-amino acids to 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol polystyrene.
