Description
- VACUETTE™ Blood Collection Tubes are evacuated for easy, safe sample collection. The amount of vacuum in each tube corresponds to the tube’s blood volume specification and helps ensure the correct blood-to-additive ratio.
- Injection molded from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, VACUETTE™ Blood Collection Tubes are highly transparent and virtually unbreakable.
- VACUETTE™ Serum tubes include a clot-activating additive – micronized silica particles – that is spray-dried on the interior tube wall for even disbursement and optimal blood/additive mixing.
- Serum tubes with gel contain a barrier gel to separate the serum from the fibrin and cells. During centrifugation, the barrier gel moves upward to the serum/clot interface, where it forms a stable barrier. This barrier separates the serum from fibrin and cells.
- Optimal fill marks on every tube label indicate the proper draw volume for correct blood-to-additive ratios (within ±10% of the stated nominal volume in accordance with ISO and CLSI).
- Featuring red VACUETTE™ SAFETY Caps, designed to minimize the spraying of aerosols during decapping and color-coded to aid first-glance tube recognition.
- Sterile and latex-free.
