Description

Detect and enumerate microorganisms present on surfaces of sanitary importance using this medium.

Detect and enumerate microorganisms present on surfaces of sanitary importance using Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Tryptic Soy Agar with Lecithin, Polysorbate 80 (Microbial Content Test Agar). The combination of lecithin and polysorbate 80 in an agar medium effectively neutralizes disinfectants1. Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) is prepared according to the Soybean-Casein Agar formula recommended in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP)2. TSA with Lecithin and Polysorbate 80 is compatible with environmental air sampling procedures.

Tryptic Soya Agar with Lecithin, Polysorbate 80 is used for determining efficiency of sanitization on surfaces of sanitary importance.

  • Lecithin and polysorbate 80 neutralize residual compounds that may be present on the material being sampled.

This medium contains casein and soy peptones that provide essential amino acids, peptides, and nitrogenous substances necessary for bacterial growth. Sodium chloride supplies essential electrolytes and maintains osmotic equilibrium. Agar is a solidifying agent.
