Supplier: Thermo Scientific™ RE01712
Description
Selectively isolate and identify Pseudomonas species from a range of samples with Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Pseudomonas Isolation Agar. The medium is formulated to enhance the production of pyocyanin which aids in presumptive identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Irgasan™ is added as a potent broad-spectrum antimicrobial making Pseudomonas Isolation Agar especially useful in isolating Pseudomonas from clinical specimens which are contaminated with commensal flora.
Use Pseudomonas Isolation Agar for selective isolation and identification of Pseudomonas species from a range of samples.
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa forms fluorescent green colonies (due to the production of pyocyanin) while the growth of Klebsiella, Proteus and Providencia are strongly suppressed.
- Enhanced pigment production aids identification due to incorporation of glycerol, magnesium chloride and potassium sulphate in the medium.
- Ready to use convenience of prepared media.
