Applied Biosystems™ PEN Membrane Frame Slides

ARCTURUS™ laser capture microdissection (LCM) instruments offer a unique combination of infrared (IR) laser capture and ultraviolet (UV) laser cutting, permitting the use of any slide type and any sample preparation for microdissection. While plain glass slides are effectively used for standard IR-based LCM, polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) membrane slides facilitate this Arcturus™-exclusive dual laser function and allow you to determine the appropriate sample preparation based on your application need.

Plain Glass Slides
ARCTURUS™ instruments are the only LCM systems that allow efficient use of low cost plain glass slides, and provide easy access to archival materials. We do not sell plain glass slides, though most commercially available glass slides are compatible with microdissection. PEN Membrane Slides
PEN membrane slides enable the combined use of IR LCM and UV Laser Cutting. PEN Membrane Glass Slides allows the use of standard IR LCM on its own, which is the gentlest approach for isolating individual cells or small areas. PEN Membrane Frame Slides provide additional flexibility by allowing the choice of microdissection from non-dehydrated sample preparations.
