Methoxycarbonylsulfenyl chloride is used to prepare 3-[(methoxycarbonyl)dithio]-L-alanine by reacting with L-cysteine. Further, it is used in the synthesis of 3-2 pyridinyldithio propanoic acid hydrazide (PDPH).
