Description

For visually determining the ASTM D1500 Oils Comparator color of samples

Single scale, three-field instrument for visual color grading by direct comparison between the sample and Lovibond glass color standards housed in a pair of discs. The advantage of a three-section field of view is that the sample and two consecutive glasses on the color scale are viewed simultaneously, making it easier to achieve the optimum color match. For rapid color grading within predetermined color limits, the glass standards can be set to the two limiting colors so that it is easy to check that the sample is within tolerance.

  • For visually determining the ASTM Oils Comparator color of samples by direct comparison with colored glass standards
  • Versions of Comparator 3000 are also available for Gardner, FAC, EBC, and U.S. Naval Stores Rosin Color scales
  • Supplied with the appropriate range of colored glass filters
  • It incorporates the 16 glass standards which make up the scale in a pair of discs
  • Applications: petroleum oils and waxes
  • Supplied with two discs containing colored glass filters and three AF763 cylindrical glass sample jars (33mm)
  • Color scale: ASTM Color (ASTM D 1500, ASTM D 6045, ISO 2049, IP196)
