Unique graphite carbon-based SPE cartridges offer retention and separation of polar compounds where silica and resin stationary phases fail.

The use of SPE sample preparation can significantly enhance the robustness and reliability of many biological, pharmaceutical, forensic and environmental applications.

Thermo Scientific™ HyperSep Hypercarb SPE Cartridges feature a unique graphite carbon-based material that retains highly polar compounds where silica and resin columns fail. The chemistry allows selectivity for structurally similar compounds, and allows the separation of compounds using simple solvents.

HyperSep™ Hypercarb™ SPE Cartridges are packed with 30 μm spherical particles of 100% porous graphitic carbon (PGC). Composed of flat sheets of hexagonally arranged carbon atoms with a fully satisfied valence, the surface of Hypercarb™ is crystalline and highly reproducible, with no micropores.

The chemistry is pH stable 0 to 14, and offers a unique retention mechanism that provides completely different selectivity than silica or polymeric phases, determined by the strength of interaction between analytes and the Hypercarb™ surface.

  • High batch-to-batch reproducibility ensures consistent, reproducible analytical performance
  • Strong retention properties allow use of low bed weights for concentrated extracts
  • No restriction for polar compounds
  • No restriction on eluents—use 100% organic or 100% aqueous and anything in between
