Spectrum™ Chemical Glyceryl Monostearate, Flake is commonly referred to as GMS and is an organic molecule that is often used as an emulsifier. It has neither color or odor but has a sweet taste and is a flaky hygroscopic powder. It is naturally occurring in the body and is the by product of fat breakdowns. It is used as a food additive and emulsifier, as well as an anti-caking and thickening agent. Ungraded products supplied by Spectrum are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use or research purposes and typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use. These materials may or may not have a Certificate of Analysis available.
